Ideas & Iconography
As a person who was brought up surrounded by nature such as himself, Nor Hanem understands and seeks to find a way which he could incorporate the sense and the idea of how nature together with other living creatures interact and communicate among themselves. Having been an abstract expressionist,he tries to convey and to bring these meanings of what he perceives onto a piece of canvas as its final and work of art.
Through years of experimentation, he discovers a technique of using fine sands, which he would now put it as his ‘signature’ among his artpieces, as a way and a media which he could express the connectivity and the sensitivity of the world around him. This brilliant discovery was not merely a technical tool in his work, yet he believes that sand itself being flexible and fluid, thus is an ideal medium which enables him to create and to shape according to his desires and what he wanted it to represent. Be it somekind of stormy wind, still waters,or intricate veins of a leaf, these altogether with the embodiment of lifeful colors and purposeful strokes depicted by his mind is what creates his art.
